Position Overview :
The Database Administrator/Developer at Zotok is responsible for developing and optimizing database systems to ensure performance, integrity, and availability. This role involves writing efficient queries, troubleshooting database issues, and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies. The candidate will collaborate with teams to design data solutions that align with business requirements. Monitoring and improving database performance is a key responsibility, making this role essential to the company’s data infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities :
1.Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and views to optimize performance and ensure data integrity.
2.Write and optimize efficient queries to support various teams and use cases.
3.Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database performance, resolving bottlenecks and optimizing resource usage.
4.Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
5.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient database designs.
Skills and Competencies :
1.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
2.2+ years of experience in MySQL/AWS Aurora database development.
3.Proficiency in SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
4.Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Aurora and S3.
5.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
6.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1.AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification.
2.Experience with other relational databases (PostgreSQL/Redshift Data Warehouse).
